Reclaimed refrigerant will remain available after that point, but reclaimed stock isn’t unlimited, and pricing will reflect scarcity.

Weigh that against the cost of new A2L equipment, factor in projected refrigerant pricing, and make the call with a clear picture rather than a sales pitch.
15-Plus Years Old
A system in this range is at or past its expected useful life regardless of the refrigerant transition. Planning a proactive replacement now, rather than waiting for an emergency failure during a triple-digit heat wave, puts you in control of the timeline. Emergency replacements during peak summer season come with tighter contractor availability and less favorable pricing.
